Surya Ghar Bijali Yojna- 2025

PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15 February 2024, is an ambitious initiative of the Government of India, which aims to promote the use of solar energy in homes and reduce electricity bills through the scheme PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijali Yojna. Aims and objectives of the Scheme Target: To install rooftop solar panels in 1 crore households by March 2027. Total budget: ₹75,021 crore. Free electricity: Up to 300 units of free electricity will be provided every month. Solar power generation: The scheme aims to install 30 GW of solar capacity. Savings over the years: Each household is estimated to save around ₹18,000 annually. Subsidies and Financial Assistance 1 kW solar panel: ₹30,000 subsidy. 2 kW solar panel: ₹60,000 subsidy. 3 kW or more solar panel: ₹78,000 subsidy (limit up to 3 kW) Contact Us Benefits of the Scheme Financial Benefits Free Electricity: Eligible households receive up to 300 units of free electricity per month. Income from Solar Power: Excess electricity generated by the solar panels can be sold to the power distribution companies (DISCOMs), offering an additional income stream. Eg:- A 3 kW solar system can generate about 300 units per month Easy Loan Facility: The scheme provides loans at a 7% interest rate for systems up to 3 kW capacity, reducing the upfront financial burden on households.
